“Google my name” says Priyanka Chopra on apology of Rosie O’Donnell

Comedian Rosie O’ Donnel recently shared her awkward private experience on TikTok of meeting Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Rosie came across the celebrity couple in Los Angeles hot spot Nobu Malibu. During the conversation, Rosie accidentally made it clear that she did not know who Priyanka Chopra was and took her to be Deepak Chopra’s daughter.
Rosie recounted on TikTok “When I said, ‘Hi, Nick Jonas, you were great in ‘Kingdom,’ and ‘Hi, I know your dad,’ she goes, ‘You do? Who’s my dad?,'” and I said “Deepak Chopra”, she’s like “No and Chopra is a common name”. After that Rosie was left embarrassed.
Upon this encounter, Rosie made a public apology on Tiktok to Priyanka saying “Nick Jonas I apologize, and to the Chopra wife I apologize too”. This apology is getting mixed responses on social media where some people are supporting Rosie while others say that her apology made the already awkward situation more awkward!
Finally, the actress responded to this apology in the latest Instagram story, saying “I have never taken myself so seriously to think everyone would know who I am, or my work for that matter,” she wrote.
“But if you wanted to make a public apology for a very awkward private encounter, I think probably best to take the time to Google my name before doing it or even try to reach out directly. We all deserve to be respected for our unique individuality and not to be referred to as ‘someone’ or ‘wife,’, especially in a sincere apology. If we can learn to respect our differences in an authentic way, the world we raise our children in will be amazing.PS – As I’ve said before, not all Chopra’s are related to the great Deepak, just as not all Smiths are related to the legendary Will Smith.”
