ED arrests Nationalist Congress Party’s minister

ED arrests Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik
Nawab Malik known for strongly opposing the BJP government through his fierce and bold speeches is now arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on the charges of money laundering and land deals involving ill-reputed terrorist Dawood Ibrahim.

Nawab is currently the Minister of Minority Affairs in the Shiv Sena-led government. He has been the MLA in the Maharasthra government five times. Also, he is the National Spokesperson of the Nationalist Congress Party(NCP). ED is currently investigating a money laundering case having connections with the underworld. For the same, Malik was taken to the ED office at 7:45 am this morning and was questioned for 8 straight hours after which the minister was arrested. The officials, after the interrogation, said that Malik gave evasive replies and showed no cooperation. During the questioning of the minister, NCP workers regularly protested against the Central government and ED with slogans. According to the party officials, the protest is against the unjust questioning of Nawab Malik as he was exposing the central government on daily basis. After coming out of the ED office, Nawab told the media “We will fight and we will win!”After the medical examination at JJ Hospital is done, the minister will be presented before the PMLA court.

Reportedly, Dawood Ibrahim’s brother was also arrested in this case and Haseena Parkar’s residence was raided last week. Dawood’s nephew, Alishah Parkar, Chota Shakeel’s henchman, Salim Qureshi, and Salim Fruits were questioned by the Central government agency.
